Pizza Dreams

It's a warm summers day. The weather is too good for anything but a cold beer at a street corner café. As I drink the first gulps of my beer I realize that a friend from school sits next to me and looks out over the traffic. Not only is it odd to see him but he also drinks a beer which is unusual since he is a teetotaler. Not knowing what to say I continue drinking my beer and watch the cars pass by. My friends reaction to his encounter with alcohol results in him throwing a piece of cheese into the traffic. I've seen much worse things happening to people as a result of alcohol but disturbingly the car, avoiding the piece of cheese, skids up the pavement and hits a man leaning against the wall. I am not certain of what happened and I cannot remember what happened to the poor guy. I vaguely recall that he was already dead before the car hit him.

Painkillers

At the local pharmacy.

Me: Hi, I would like some Ipren (a brand of ibuprofen [iso-butyl-propanoic-phenolic acid]).

Pharmacist: Have you tried it before?

Of course I have tried painkillers before, I'm 21... surely at some point during that time I've must have been in some sort of pain. Tempted to say: "No, does it hurt?" I pushed away that very amusing thought and said...

Noise Cleaning and Photo Sharpening

Happy new 2010 to all of my readers! I've been quite busy lately with a lot of anatomy and biochemistry to study but now I'm going to take the time to write a tutorial.

This tutorial presents some basic photo editing that hopefully makes your images look better. Previous tutorials have been written for both Paint.NET and GIMP but this tutorial requires some plugins that are only available for GIMP. Similar plugins exists for both Paint.NET and Photoshop so it's not impossible to use this guide for those programs.GIMP if you intend to use this program. Then download GREYCStoration and install it. If you're on Windows Vista or Windows 7 go to C:\Users\"youraccountname"\Documents\.gimp-"versionnumber"\plugins\ and paste the GREYCStoration executable in this folder. Under Windows XP change Users to Documents and Settings. When you start GIMP GREYCStoration should be under Filters>Enhance>GREYCStoration.
